Spring: March β May (Peak Trekking Season)
Spring is the most popular trekking season. Rhododendrons bloom in brilliant reds and pinks, skies are generally clear, and temperatures are pleasant. This is the best season for the Everest and Annapurna regions.
- Temperature at Kathmandu: 15β25Β°C
- Mountain views: Excellent
- Crowd level: High (book early!)
Summer/Monsoon: June β August
Heavy rainfall makes most trails slippery and views are often obscured by clouds. However, rain-shadow areas like Mustang and Dolpo remain dry and beautiful. Great for green landscapes and budget travelers.
Autumn: September β November (Peak Season)
Arguably the best season overall. Post-monsoon skies are crystal clear, mountains appear in dramatic detail, and temperatures are perfect. The busiest season β accommodation fills fast.
Winter: December β February
Cold at altitude but Kathmandu Valley and lower elevation treks like Poon Hill are very enjoyable. High passes can be snowed in, but Annapurna Circuit and cultural tours work well. Lowest prices.
